"Some Fiery Watery Title!" - Alpha Release

Creators Note: Hi all! It's worth noting first of all that this is an alpha prototype, and so has been released on the basis that it will be expanded into a fuller demo later on. This version is to test out and get feedback on the core mechanics at play. ^^

For the gaming completionists and the avid explorers, who are looking for more ways to complete a game (whether it’s finding all collectables or blazing through the level), the project “Some Fiery Watery Title” is a stylised 2D game that explores combining both the genres and mechanics of two individual characters, while allowing the player to still complete a level using either one. The project aims to explore replay-ability in the same level, allowing for new opportunities and encouraging new ways of navigating and completing said level.

• Work together and combine your attacks for all kinds of combinations! 

• Hop from platform to platform with Waterform or the top-down traversing Flare (or both!)

• Go solo or as a duo, infiltrating the thorny security of the Shanopi Tree Village!

• Acquire the electrifying, possibly genre-shifting, immense power of the Zap Shard!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Flare:

• WASD keys to move
• Click the left mouse button to shoot a fireball, hold to charge one for extra power!
• Try all forms of charge for various damaging results!

Waterform:

• Left and right arrow keys to move
• Up arrow key to jump
• Press space to shoot a droplet, hold to charge for extra distance!
• Try all form of charge for various reach and versatility!

Your objectives:

• Avoid the oncoming ferns launched by the Shanopi!
• Stun or burn, infiltrate you way through the grassy kingdom and defeat the Shanopi!
• Burn down doors or unlock them with Aqua Keys. The choice is yours in this game of exploration and combination!
• Try combining your attacks at the same time for various results!

Other Controls:

• Press R to reset the game at any time (encouraged for exploring other ways of playing the game)
  
• Press E to drop items/de-merge
• Press and/or hold 'F' to have the enemies launch ferns (for damage testing)
• If you ever want to close the game, press the Windows key and manually close, or Alt-F4.
